2012 Solar Eclipse

It's going to be another 5 years before I get to see one of these bad boys again.  I didn't really have any high hopes of being able to photograph the event until I realized that my Infrared filters work perfectly for staring directly into the sun!  The weather didn't seem like it was going to cooperate, but to my surprise the clouds broke enough to not only view the eclipse, but provide an erie apocalyptic sky.  I can't wait until the 2017 eclipse to try these shots again!

Hot Air Bloon Festival

Hey! I'm going to make this a quick post, because I got up WAY to early to go catch the 2012 Hot Air Balloon Festival in Erie, CO.  It was supposed to happen yesterday but it got rained out.  This morning however the weather was PERFECT!

Here are some recent photos! Also I figured out how to make a slideshow from my website.  Things seem to be popping off lately.  It seems like all with in a matter of months I was offered one of the Artist in Residence spots up at Caribou Ranch, won 1st place in photography and Best of Show for the 2012 Wyoming Art for the Cure, and also was offered a spot in a pizzaria to display a bunch of my photos later this year.  This is only the beginning... I need to start getting my name out there more and more and more.  Maybe I'll start submitting my artwork to magazines where I can be featured, or newspapers, or calendars or something... The gears are ticking and I'm open to any ideas.
