11/14/11 Update

I've been surprisingly busy as of late.  I haven't shot nearly as much as I would like to be shooting, but here are a few from the past week or so that I'm pretty pumped about.

Today's photo is a self portrait I shot yesterday afternoon at Red Rocks.  I swear I'm not totally full of myself or anything ... But I do really like this shot!

Throwback!

I'm just going to post 1 photo tonight.  It is one I took a few months ago at the top of Rocky Mountain National Park in the middle of the night.  I just kind of cast it aside, didn't really hit home with me as a decent image at first... but now I love it!  I don't know what changed or why I didn't see it with the same feeling before.

I haven't really been on any huge photo adventures lately, but I have started a new 365 project and still shoot (almost) everyday!  Not all are winners in my book, but here are a few from this last month!

Shooting Stars

My new favorite subject!!  Ever since I picked up my 35mm F1.8 lens I have been looking to the night sky for my inspiration.  I feel like I have only scratched the surface of my full potential when it comes to shooting the stars.  The milky way is my ultimate goal, but looking at star charts, it appears the best chance I have is in June.... which... that's what 9 months of practice.  Should be able to get an epic photo at that point.  

These shots are from misc. nights over the past 3 months - Some in urban settings, some in the middle of nowhere, some even during a full moon!!  I can't wait to perfect these kinds of photos. 

365 Days of Photography Year 1

Recently I just finished up the photo project that has launched this new addicting hobby of mine of capturing moments in time.  1 year - a full 365 days of shooting and improving my eye for photography led me on so many adventures, and made me notice things that otherwise I never would have.  Anyway, this blog I just wanted to look back and post a few of my favorites from the past year.
